Abstract

The LMS in Sokrates Apps is used by schools across various educational levels in Indonesia. Essay-type questions in quizzes on the LMS require manual grading, making the process less efficient. Therefore, Automated Essay Scoring (AES) emerges as a solution to improve efficiency in the essay grading process. Generative Artificial Intelligence has great potential to be applied as an AES tool. Several well-known Generative Artificial Intelligence, such as OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude, offer advanced capabilities in understanding and automatically evaluating text. This study aims to compare the performance of these different Generative Artificial Intelligence in the context of essay scoring using a dataset of questions and student answers from elementary to senior high school levels in Indonesia, specifically from schools that use the Sokrates Apps LMS.
