Abstract

Abstract This chapter investigates the scope of the habitual aspect marker -AːččI in Dolgan, a Turkic language spoken in Siberia (Russian Federation), within the theoretical framework of Functional Discourse Grammar (FDG). Based on a questionnaire which was developed for the purpose of this volume, as well as data from an annotated corpus of Dolgan spoken language, it is concluded that in Dolgan the habitual suffix -AːččI operates on the layer of the State-of-Affairs and the layer of the Episode.
