Abstract

The AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) model is a formula developed for marketing communication messages to be effective. AIDA is a formula that serves to plan and implement promotional messages in order to direct consumers’ reactions. This formula, which includes cognitive, emotional, and behavioral stages, suggests attracting consumers’ attention, arousing their interest, ensuring their desire, and encouraging them to take action. The AIDA model, designed to formulate the stages that lead consumers to purchase step-by-step for salespeople, then guides the advertising field and the creation of promotional strategies carried out in digital media today. This chapter discusses the emergence of the AIDA model, its stages, development, and its functionality in terms of promotional activities in the tourism sector.
