Abstract

Consumer behavior is shaped by various stages. In these stages, people’s behavioral tendencies vary depending on various factors. Consumers strive to evaluate the best option for themselves based on the alternatives available. Therefore, it is important to examine consumer behavior and identify the stages and variables that influence their tendencies. From a tourism perspective, understanding the behavior of tourists as consumers and managing their needs, desires, and demands in line with this process is important for the current state and future of the tourism industry. In the highly competitive tourism industry, accurately analyzing the complex behaviors of tourists is a key element. In this context, various models have been developed in the literature from the perspective of consumer behavior. In this chapter, the models considered in terms of tourism are examined chronologically.
