Abstract

Environmental models are being qualified as the essential tools to understand, predict, and manage human influence on nature. These models help scientists and all of the stakeholders develop deep knowledge to minimize negative consequences of industrialization, urbanization, and population growth. As a large and fast-growing industry, tourism contributes significantly to economic development, employment, and cultural exchange with costs including environmental impacts. To balance the benefits of tourism with its environmental impacts, various environmental impact models (EIMs) have been developed and applied.
