Abstract

Tourism is an activity carried out by individuals for reasons such as spending free time, resting, and enjoying. It is important to know the emotions that drive individuals to make decisions, their decision-making processes, and the factors that affect them during tourism activities. Furthermore, analyzing how and with whom tourists share their experiences after their trips is important to gain a deep understanding of tourist behavior. At the same time, there is a big risk factor, such as a lack of tourism mobility experience before. It is seen that the decision-making process of tourists is complex and affected by many variables. In this context, understanding the psychology of tourists and potential tourists facilitates decision-making processes. Considering this, various models have been developed by tourism industries to determine the destination decision-making process of tourists. In the study, Schmoll’s Tourist Decision Making Model is examined in detail, with its four areas separated by variable features.
