Abstract

Teacher reflection is key to the improvement of teaching and learning, and reflective feedback from supervisors and colleagues is a powerful way to promote teacher reflection. In this article I describe teacher reflection and reflective feedback, then propose 4 frameworks for reflective feedback: clinical supervision, peer video analysis, teacher learning walks, and collaborative autobiography. In clinical supervision, the supervisor takes the lead in providing reflective feedback to an individual teacher, while also requesting such feedback from the teacher. In the other 3 frameworks, teachers are facilitated by the supervisor as they provide reflective feedback to one another.
