Strongly cotorsion and torsion-free modules and dimensions over triangular matrix rings
Abstract
Let T=(A0UB) be a triangular matrix ring with A and B two rings, and BUA a (B,A)-bimodule. We first study left strongly cotorsion modules over T. After that, the strongly cotorsion dimension for left T-modules and the left global strongly cotorsion dimension of T are studied. Under mild assumptions, we provide certain bounds for the strongly cotorsion dimension of left T-modules and the left global strongly cotorsion dimension of T. Finally, by using the technique of duality pairs, the right strongly torsion-free T-modules and related dimensions are also discussed.
