Set theoretic complete intersection of ideals in a Laurent polynomial ring
Abstract
Let A be an affine algebra of dimension n≥3 over the algebraic closure F¯p of a finite field of p elements. Let I⊂A[T,T−1] be a local complete intersection ideal of height n. Suppose that I/I2 is a free A[T,T−1]/I-module of rank n and (A[T,T−1]/I) is torsion in the Grothendieck group K0(A[T,T−1]). Under these assumptions, we prove that I is a set theoretic complete intersection ideal.
