On traces and simple groups whose subgroups of two prime powers index
Abstract
Inspired by the results of Guralnick and Li and Li, respectively, we divided all maximal subgroups into the sets F1 and F¯1 (F2 and F¯2, respectively) from the number of prime divisors of their indices in a group. Further, we applied the division in considering the question of Guo-Skiba-Tang and investigated the classification of non-abelian composition factors or solvability of a group under the conditions on traces of maximal subgroups.
