Abstract

Not All In: Race, Immigration, and Health Care Exclusion in the Age of Obamacare [Joseph, Tiffany. 2025. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press] examines how racialized legal status hindered access to coverage and care for Latin American immigrants in Boston amid health and immigration policy shifts from 2012 to 2019. I respond to the three symposium contributors by addressing their critiques of the racialized legal status framework, describing the challenges of immigrants’ incorporation into the US healthcare system, and outlining the harsh reality of life for immigrants in the US under the second Trump administration.
