Abstract

This paper introduces a hybrid control strategy for series resonant converters that combines pulse frequency modulation and pulse density modulation. It effectively solves the challenges of heating both ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials by offering precise and independent power control under changing load conditions. The hybrid control technique improves the system control flexibility and reduces switching losses. The system achieves a maximum efficiency of 97.6% at 850 W, as confirmed by simulation and experimental results. This research provides a dependable, scalable and energy-efficient solution for modern industrial and residential induction heating systems.
