Numerical treatment of the magnetised dissipative thin-film hybrid nanofluid ( S WCNT − MWCNT / H 2 O ) flow and heat transfer over an unsteady stretching sheet with partial slip and convective boundary conditions
Abstract
The significant impact of thin-film and hybrid nanofluid in enhancing heat transfer in power plants, heat exchangers, microchips, circuits, vehicles, aerospace and industrial coatings is evident. This study aims to examine heat transfer over a stretching sheet with partial slip and convective boundary conditions, incorporating Joule heating effects through the analysis of dissipative magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) in thin-film hybrid nanofluid flow. An appropriate similarity transformation is utilised to convert the governing system of partial differential equations (PDEs) into a nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The BVP4C method is subsequently employed to solve the system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations in MATLAB numerically. The physical impacts of variables on temperature and velocity profiles are examined and illustrated through graphs. The rising values of vital physical parameters significantly impede the velocity profile of (SWCNT−MWCNT/H2O) hybrid nanofluid. Additionally, the highest temperature is recorded for the (SWCNT−MWCNT/H2O) hybrid nanofluid. Moreover, it is investigated that the Biot number Bi shows an extraordinary performance by increasing the rate of heat transfer 91% in the case of hybrid nanofluid. This study offers significant advances in temperature control, flow regulation and thermal management, making it crucial for precision cooling and coating.
