Abstract

This study numerically compares heat transfer by natural convection in an inclined cavity filled with nanofluid and ionanofluid. The basic equations are solved using the finite volume method and the Simplec algorithm. The objective is to evaluate and compare the performance of these two fluids at a volumetric fraction of 0.04, considering variations in the Rayleigh number from 10³ to 106 and the inclination angle of the cavity at 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90°. The results indicate that, compared to the nanofluid, the ionanofluid exhibits significant enhancements in heat transfer under specific inclination conditions. This study highlights the growing importance of ionic fluids in improving natural convection heat transfer processes.
