Abstract

Research on Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in public libraries in Zimbabwe is limited. A study based on the Technology Acceptance Model gathered data from 54 users at a library in Gweru using questionnaires and interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed with SPSS, and qualitative data with ATLAS.ti. Findings revealed that users had a positive view of Wi-Fi reliability and power access but noted issues such as the absence of formal BYOD policies, limited accessibility, and inadequate staff training. Recommendations include developing specific BYOD policies, enhancing staff training, improving signage, and implementing patron education programs for better digital access.
