Simulation study of the induced magnetic field’s impact for Jeffrey fluid within a curved tube with a complex wavy slip boundary
Abstract
This paper presents a novel investigation of the complex wavy flow of a Jeffrey fluid within a curved tube, considering second-order slip conditions and the presence of an induced magnetic field. Unlike previous studies that primarily focus on Newtonian fluids in straight or mildly curved channels, this research provides new insights into the impact of curvature, induced magnetic field effects, and slip conditions on non-Newtonian peristaltic transport. Long-wavelength and low Reynolds number approximations are used to derive the governing equations, which are solved analytically. The results reveal that the curvature and wavy slip boundary significantly alter the velocity profile, leading to non-uniform flow acceleration and localized shear stress variations. Additionally, the induced magnetic field plays a crucial role in modifying flow stability and boundary interactions, which previous research has mostly ignored. This study is innovative because it takes a comprehensive approach to curvature effects, induced magnetic fields, shear stress, pressure rise, pressure gradient, complex peristaltic waves, first- and second-order slip, and trapping phenomena, all of which provide novel insights for controlled fluid flow methods. These results have practical applications in industrial processing systems, microfluidics, and biomedical engineering (e.g. blood flow control), where accurate control of non-Newtonian fluids is required.
