Structural equation modelling of physical education graduates’ teaching efficacy, organisational commitment, and employability: mediating role of motivations for work
Abstract
This study examines the relationship between teaching efficacy, organisational commitment, and employability among education graduates, with a focus on the mediating role of work motivation. Using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), the research analyses data collected from 406 Chinese physical education graduates to validate the proposed conceptual framework. The results indicate that teaching efficacy has a significant influence on both employability and organisational commitment, while work motivation serves as a crucial mediator in these relationships. The findings highlight that practical teaching skills enhance employability and strengthen organisational commitment, suggesting that fostering teaching efficacy and motivation can significantly contribute to the professional success of physical education graduates. The study’s implications extend to educational institutions and policymakers, emphasising the need for targeted interventions to enhance teaching efficacy and create supportive work environments that bolster motivation and commitment in the education sector.
