Abstract

This study examined the relationship between career calling, role balance, and life satisfaction among female counsellors in Malaysia (N = 334). Structural Equation Modelling analysis was applied in this study to analyse how these variables interact. As hypothesised, career calling was positively and significantly associated with life satisfaction, with role balance serving as a significant mediator in this relationship. In exploring role balance’s effects, marital status was found to have a direct impact on role balance but an indirect effect on life satisfaction. The findings suggest that a stronger sense of career calling may increase life satisfaction, partly through a heightened sense of role balance for female counsellors in Malaysia. However, marital status emerged as a significant factor in understanding the dynamics between role balance, calling, and life satisfaction.
