Abstract

The Guided Pathways Model began in community colleges a decade ago to move colleges from college access to college completion. Billed as a whole-scale reform model, the Guided Pathways Model touches every facet of a student's first-year experience, from degree design to advising to career exploration and scaling up student support. In this essay, an overview of the model is provided along with providing some promising results. Implications for practitioners and a future reform model are discussed.
