Abstract

Little research has been done on the relationships between Andean communities and NGOs. This article presents a case study of a long-term relationship between an NGO and an Andean community. The collaboration of many years yielded an array of successful projects in economic development, health, and education. Despite these successes, the community eventually decided to withdraw from the network of communities and associations that work with this NGO. In this article, we explore the reasons behind the community’s decision.
