Abstract

The government of Lesotho is a member of various international organisations and has signed treaties aimed at development. In addition, the country founded the National Strategic Development Plan and has currently undertaken National Reforms. All these initiatives attempt to develop and improve the livelihood of its citizens. Unfortunately, some, if not all, of these initiatives have failed to yield the expected results in Lesotho. This paper aims to investigate why the government of Lesotho did not achieve its set goals at the anticipated time. It seeks to trace and evaluate the different initiatives the government has attempted to implement with regards to sustainable development goals 2 and 11.
