Current Mode Analysis of Loop Antenna
Abstract
The electrically small loop has been extensively used as a receiving antenna at radio frequencies in the megahertz range. Analysis of such an antenna is normally undertaken with the summation of signals received from its small segments. This approach, however, fails to give proper insight into the actual behavior of the loop antenna. An alternative approach would be to treat the loop antenna as a conducting loop placed in a time-varying magnetic field. An attempt has been made to analyze the loop antenna in current mode, which is simple and can, in addition, throw more light on its working.
