Abstract

A Ru(II) complex [RuCl(p-cymene)(L)](PF6) (1), where L is a chiral β-organotellurated amine, (2 R)-4-MeO-C6H4-TeCH2CH(CH3)NH2, was synthesized. Elemental analysis,1H,13C{1H} NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy were used to characterize this compound. Single crystal X-ray diffraction was used to determine its molecular crystal structure. The crystal data including Flack parameter (x=−0.024(6)) and the NMR spectra revealed that one of the diastereomers of the complex crystallizes and whose molecular crystal structure was determined. The complex has distorted octahedral, half-sandwich piano-stool structure. It was also found that the complex molecules were kept together in the solid state by NH⋯F type of hydrogen bonding and CH⋯F and CH⋯Cl types of non-classical hydrogen bonding interactions forming a supramolecular assembly.
