Examining User Multi-Homing Intention on AIGC Platforms: Integrating Perceived Complementarity and Path Dependence
Abstract
With the rapid development of AIGC technologies, user multi-homing on multiple platforms has been popular, which may affect user attraction and retention of platforms. This research integrated perceived complementarity and path dependence to explore user multi-homing intention on AIGC platforms. We employed a mixed method of SEM and fsQCA to conduct data analysis. The results show that variety-seeking preference affects perceived complementarity (which includes functional, interactional and contextual complementarity) and path dependence (which includes functional, emotional and cost dependence), both of which further affect user multi-homing intention. The results imply that AIGC platforms need to be concerned with user multi-homing in order to expand user base and ensure the sustainable development.
