Abstract

Fleet Management System (FMS) is a vital tool for coordination, supervision and maintainability of fleet activities. Proper utilization of FMS depends on level of usability which can be determined by different methods including heuristic evaluation which is popular for its low cost, effectiveness and efficiency. Despite this popularity its application on FMS remains uknown. Furthermore specific heuristics which are important for uncovering insightful usability issues of FMS are also unknown. Therefore, this study aims to identify these aspects and synthesize knowledge for creation of usability heuristics specific for FMS. 23 studies were analyzed to determine the state of FMS usability research, including heuristics usage, as well as usability issues of FMS. The findings suggest heuristic evaluation has been conducted using generic principles confirming the lack of domain specific heuristics while also highlighting usability issues and ways to improve usability such as through refining how data and reports are presented.
