Abstract

This study investigates how different leisure contexts (leisure travel, visiting friends and relatives, and daily leisure) contribute to well-being and examines the mediating roles of recovery experiences and savoring strategies in the relationship between leisure travel and well-being. The results, derived using online survey data, showed no differences in well-being scores across the three groups after controlling for demographic factors. However, mediation analyses revealed that leisure travel was positively related to well-being through mastery and amplifying. Our findings contribute by providing a nuanced understanding of how leisure travel positively relates to well-being and offer practical insights for fulfilling tourist experiences.
