Abstract

Consistent and varied reflective practices have propelled me through many profound changes and discoveries. This practice is ever-expanding and self-perpetuating; it invites me to examine internalized hierarchies and note the ways they show up in my teaching practice as an educator, manager, and mentor. This essay teases apart the idea of reflection as a social action and its role in learning spaces like Visual Thinking Strategies, coaching, and Participatory Action Research, to underline the importance of community and peer support in reflective practice.
