Library Program Follow-Up Evaluation Reporting: Insights from a Real Consulting Project Using KoboToolbox
Abstract
This article, based on a consulting experience with a library offering the ChatGPT for Business Library Entrepreneurship Support Program, presents the in-house evaluation reports prepared for follow-up evaluation, highlighting the key elements librarians include when drafting evaluation reports: a program overview, the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) approach including the Theory of Change, evaluation objectives and methods, findings aligned with the evaluation objectives, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data analyses, lessons learned and recommendations, and optional appendices. KoboToolbox was used to conduct evaluations, and the analyzed data were incorporated into the reports to support evidence-based insights. The article provides practical guidance for peer libraries integrating M&E into their programming, particularly those conducting evaluations and drafting reports In-house. By demonstrating structured reporting practices, the study aims to improve library programs, facilitate knowledge sharing among libraries, and strengthen advocacy for evidence-based library services.
