Abstract

With economic transformation, the unbalanced and insufficient development of China’s economy and society is manifested in the increased inequality of economic vulnerability among households. This article establishes a household economic vulnerability model based on the fluctuation of household expected consumption, and uses a fixed effects model to explore the impact of digital inclusive finance on household economic vulnerability inequality. The findings indicate that: Firstly, the development of digital inclusive finance can significantly alleviate the inequality of economic vulnerability among households; Secondly, the development of digital inclusive finance has heterogeneous effects on households with different levels of education and material capital; Thirdly, digital inclusive finance can have a significant impact through two mechanisms: affecting household income and consumption levels. The conclusion of this article serves as a valuable reference for other countries in developing inclusive finance and promoting family welfare.
