Abstract

The September 2025 mutual-defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will likely solidify and reinvigorate the countries’ long-standing defence, diplomatic and economic ties. While the details of the agreement remain vague, it points to wider shifts in the security dynamics between the Middle East and South Asia and carries with it the potential to shape regional realignments.
