Abstract

Cross-border data flows have become essential to the tourism sector, yet they face regulatory restrictions worldwide. Using a panel dataset of 91 countries over the 2014–2024 period, this study investigates the impact of barriers to cross-border data flows (BCBDF) on tourism exports and the moderating role of political stability. The results show that BCBDF negatively affect tourism exports, and this negative effect is mitigated by political stability.
