Abstract

Schemmel’s Justice and Egalitarian Relations offers an ambitious account of an expressionist version of relational egalitarianism. His core argument for this account appeals to a series of cases that co-vary in terms of what they express and in terms of the degree to which they are unjust. I offer four criticisms of this argument, concluding that it fails to justify Schemmel’s favoured theory of justice.
