Abstract

This study examines Taha Abdurrahman's Mu'ākhāh Framework as a reimagined approach to citizenship which can presents a paradigm shift in perceiving the concept of citizenship within the Muslim context, advocating for a redefined approach rooted in morality for communal living within political contexts. By challenging traditional theories and critiquing modern citizenship concepts, Abdurrahman offers a unique perspective that prioritizes ethics over individual rights and community values. The framework of Al-Mu'ākhāh serves as a foundation for politico-ethical bonds among citizens, emphasizing a continuous journey of self-transformation and ethical growth. This transformative approach transcends geographical boundaries and cultural differences, offering a universal understanding of citizenship based on shared human values. Through his exploration of civic relations, Abdurrahman highlights the importance of ethics, morality, and communal bonds in fostering meaningful changes at both individual and collective levels, ultimately aiming to bring individuals closer to God through spiritual connection guided by morality.
