Abstract

As the high turnover rate in hospitality frontline positions persists, the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) is proposed as a plausible solution. However, the high-level interpersonal interactions in the hospitality workplace, which could be a value in itself, have been overlooked within hospitality EVP. This research applied a mixed-method approach. Employee reviews on Glassdoor.com were analyzed through topic modeling. The findings suggest that social interaction constitutes a new EVP component. A subsequent quantitative study examined this sector-specific EVP element, revealing a positive relationship with employee retention and performance. This study contributes by identifying and exploring this unique EVP component and providing valuable practical insights.
