Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive fluid–structure coupling analysis of coaxial propeller systems using a hybrid methodology that combines CFD, pre-stressed modal analysis, and detailed vibration characteristics assessment. The study reveals significant variations in deformation and stress distribution between top and bottom propellers under different loading conditions. Analysis shows that Mode 1 and 4 were significant contributors to overall vibration in Y and Z directions respectively, requiring focused attention during design optimization. This research advances the state-of-knowledge in rotor dynamics and Structural design, improving propeller system performance and reliability, and contributes directly to the development of better coaxial rotorcraft.
