An effective integrated approach for dynamic analysis and accuracy reliability evaluation of mechanism considering wear clearances of the kinematic pair
Abstract
During the operation of the mechanism, wear clearances compromise mechanical performance. Yet, research regarding the dynamic accuracy reliability of complex mechanisms with multiple clearances remains limited compared to the extensive studies on the dynamic characteristics of simple linkages. Therefore, taking the multi degree of freedom nine bar mechanism as an example in this paper, an effective integrated approach for dynamic analysis and accuracy reliability evaluation of the mechanism considering multiple wear clearances of the kinematic pair are proposed. Firstly, the dynamic model of the mechanism with clearances based on Lagrange method is derived and then the correctness of the model is verified by experiments. Secondly, a wear prediction model of kinematic pair based on Archard model is derived, and the dynamic accuracy reliability model of the mechanism considering wear clearances based on First-order Second-moment method is developed. Finally, the solving process of the integrated approach for dynamic analysis and accuracy reliability evaluation of the mechanism with wear clearances is created, and the influence of wear cycles and initial clearance values on dynamic characteristics and accuracy reliability of mechanism is also analyzed. This study provides an effective integrated approach for dynamic analysis and accuracy reliability evaluation of mechanism with wear clearances, and lays the foundation for dynamic optimizing the design of the mechanism.
