Abstract

This theoretically oriented article aims to examine the relationship between grief, spirituality, and religion and to identify its relevance for generalist social work. Using bibliometric analysis conducted with the VOSviewer program, publications indexed in the Web of Science were analyzed and thematically clustered. Five key themes were identified: Adjustment, Complications, Palliative Care, Experiences, and Social Support. The findings highlight the importance of addressing disenfranchised grief, shared spiritual dimensions, and varying levels of social support across different environments, offering implications for social work practice beyond palliative care.
