Abstract

Political science programs face growing pressure to prepare world-ready graduates for fast-moving careers in security, policy, and international relations. This symposium article synthesizes experiential learning scholarship with labor-market shocks and argues that many capstones and internships do not consistently make higher-order skills explicit or assessable. The article proposes a critical experiential learning program model for capstone design. Faculty can adapt this model to strengthen career preparation, build resilience to cross-border shocks, and cultivate world-ready political science graduates.
