Abstract

This study evaluates the psychometric properties of the revised Comprehensive Organizational Health Assessment (COHA‑R), an instrument that measures worker well-being and organizational health in human services agencies. Using survey data from 4,004 child welfare workers, analyses included exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis of 14 COHA‑R measures. Most measures were unidimensional, demonstrated strong internal consistency, had adequate to good model fit, and correlated as expected, with similar patterns across job positions, suggesting good construct and face validity. Freely available, the COHA‑R can be used for point‑in‑time organizational assessment or to track change over time. Guidelines for practical application are provided.
