Abstract

The determinants of wellbeing, within the context of COVID-19, are explored for the under researched emerging adult immigrants in Australia. Ninety-five participants completed an online survey. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses indicated that the social impact of COVID-19 was not associated with wellbeing. Demographic factors, such as gender, relationship status and education were associated with aspects of wellbeing. Psychosocial factors, such as elevated resilience, emotion-regulation, intergenerational family congruence, and career satisfaction were associated with high levels of mental and subjective wellbeing and lower levels of psychological distress. Future practice, policies, and research with emerging adults from immigrant population is discussed.
