Abstract

The construction industry has long been trapped in the dilemma of “single development mode and low production efficiency”. This study aims to explore the driving path mechanism of digital resilience in the construction industry through the Motivation-Opportunity-Ability (MOA) model, with Chinese construction enterprises under the influence of the global COVID-19 pandemic as the observation window, using the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). Research has found that high-level digital resilience is the result of the combined effects of motivation, opportunity, and ability factors. There are four driving paths for digital resilience in the high-level construction industry, namely motivation-opportunity driven, motivation-ability driven, opportunity-ability driven, and motivation-opportunity-ability driven. The internal driving force of enterprises has become a key driving force, prompting industry leaders to actively fulfill their social responsibilities, adapt to the development trend of the digital age, and continue to promote digital technology innovation.
