Chloé Delaume : un cri essentiel
Abstract
This article offers a reading of Chloé Delaume’s Le Cri du sablier Delaume (Citation2001) from the perspective of performativity theory and feminist studies. For Chloé Delaume, autofiction becomes a form of resistance to the domestic and societal violence that has rendered her a secondary character and left her voiceless. Le Cri du sablier is the story in which she reinvents herself to regain control of her life. We propose to examine how the writer uses the performativity of literature to reinvent herself as a fictional character. The aim is therefore to show how Chloé Delaume uses her own experience to serve an esthetic project capable of driving societal transformation.
