La Sibylle chez Chloé Delaume, icône de la violence dans la littérature de langue française
Abstract
In her novel Les Sorcières de la République, Chloe Delaume questions the use of collective violence during witches hunts in the Middle Ages. How does the mythological figure of the Sibyll, reinvested by this author, become the symbol of systemic violence? Why did a fictional, dystopian and hyperconnected France choose to erase all traces of this episode comparable to a collective trauma? How does the figure of the visionary woman, in principle not concerned by power struggles, come to polarize violence?
