Seismic dynamic response analysis of jacket platforms
Abstract
Jacket platforms are extensively employed in the exploitation of marine resources. To address the seismic hazards confronting jacket platforms, this study develops a numerical model in ANSYS to perform dynamic response analyses. Using the seismic response spectrum method, earthquake loads were simultaneously applied in the X, Y, and Z directions to systematically evaluate the dynamic response characteristics of the jacket platform under seismic excitation. Results indicate that the top deck experiences the maximum displacement, velocity, acceleration, and Z-direction stress, whereas the highest stresses in the X and Y directions occur at the platform base. This study quantitatively characterized the spatial distribution of key seismic responses, precisely pinpointed structural vulnerabilities, and offered a solid basis for optimizing the seismic design of jacket platforms.
