Abstract

This paper offers a commentary on the eight articles published in the special issue. It brings unity to a discussion of the individual papers through the philosophical lens of relational ethics and the work of Emmanuel Levinas. It explores what linguistic ethnography gains from an orientation which backgrounds discourse in favour of relationality and proximity.
