Abstract

The conflict in Sudan has been largely overlooked in global media despite worsening conditions. Efforts at mediation have failed to achieve a sustainable ceasefire, humanitarian assistance, and political dialogue. Sudan’s security challenges are complex, involving societal tensions that cross state boundaries. This crisis reflects broader African and global security dynamics, emphasizing the importance of societal security, which highlights threats within communities and their domestic and international interactions. Understanding these complexities is essential for developing effective regional and international strategies aimed at achieving sustainable security and peace.
