Abstract

This study is the first to examine the interplay between tourism specialization, tourism competitiveness, and the sustainability of destinations measured through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of Spain, a global tourism leader. By integrating these dimensions, the note provides new evidence on how tourism-edriven economies can balance growth with sustainability, offering insights that have not previously been explored for a major international destination.
