Abstract

Smith College Libraries had to implement a significant collections budget reduction with extremely short notice. The Electronic Resources & Serials Team outlines how they enacted the cuts in the area of subscription resources, including process logistics, cuts by resource type, and tools and systems used to support resource review and cancelation. The review process resulted in cuts across multiple resource types, with a particular focus in the area of e-journal packages. This article also discusses difficulties faced and lessons learned throughout the process.
