Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the impact of digitalization on clients and professionals in social services, as well as to identify patterns in the use of technologies. This study was conducted in a specific geographical region, namely Andalusia and the province of Huelva (Spain). A quantitative methodology was employed, using surveys to gather data on the digital competence of professionals and clients of social services. The results revealed significant challenges for both clients and professionals in developing digital skills. While some clients face obstacles related to lack of devices and connectivity, professionals show weaknesses in areas such as digital content creation. Furthermore, significant differences in digital skills were identified according to variables such as education and age. The conclusions highlight the need for public policies to democratize access to technology and provide training for both clients and professionals. The importance of higher education in the development of digital skills is emphasized, and specific training programs are advocated, adapted to the profiles and needs detected in each group, to close identified gaps and improve the relationship between clients and administration through telematic means.
