Abstract

In an era of market volatility and rapid technological change, organizational resilience is vital for firms in developing economies. This study examines how digital marketing, including content marketing, digital advertising, social media marketing, and data-driven marketing, shapes resilience in Ghana’s manufacturing sector. Drawing on the resource-based view and social exchange theory, the study investigates employee engagement as a mediating mechanism and market turbulence as a moderating condition. The findings indicate that content marketing, digital advertising, and social media marketing significantly enhance organizational resilience by improving communication, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and increasing market responsiveness. Employee engagement mediates these relationships by serving as a psychological pathway through which employees reciprocate organizational investments in digital initiatives. Market turbulence strengthens rather than weakens the effectiveness of these digital marketing strategies. However, data-driven marketing does not exhibit a direct significant effect on resilience, suggesting that additional organizational capabilities and cultural readiness are required to fully leverage data insights. This study contributes to theory by demonstrating how internal resources and employee behavioral responses interact under volatile conditions to promote resilience. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of investing in digital marketing capabilities, employee development, and adaptive strategies to navigate dynamic market environments.
